The Swedish driver delivered a composed and consistent performance across several days of competition marked by highly variable conditions, ranging from snow and ice in the mountain stages to dry asphalt closer to the coast. Solberg’s ability to adapt to changing surfaces and make decisive tyre choices proved key to building and maintaining his advantage.

Solberg finished ahead of Britain’s Elfyn Evans in second place and France’s Sébastien Ogier in third, the latter already a nine-time winner of the Monte-Carlo Rally. The result marked a major milestone in Solberg’s career and positioned him as one of the standout figures of the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship season.

Speaking after the finish, Solberg praised his team and the performance of the car, highlighting the importance of confidence and precision on the rally’s most demanding mixed-surface stages.

The event also delivered a landmark moment in the WRC2 category, with French driver Léo Rossel securing victory to claim his first WRC2 win at Monte-Carlo. Rossel followed in the footsteps of his brother Johann Rossel, who won the category at the event last year, making it a notable family achievement.
