Press Release Details

Summary

The Monte-Carlo Television Festival opens submissions for its 65th edition, introducing updated Golden Nymph Award categories that reflect evolving audience habits and the growing influence of digital platforms.

Distinctions

The Monte-Carlo Television Festival is now accepting entries for the Golden Nymph Awards ahead of its 65th edition, taking place from 12 to 16 June 2026 at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco.

This year’s competition introduces notable changes to its categories, mirroring shifts in content creation, distribution and audience consumption across the global audiovisual landscape. The 2026 Golden Nymph Awards feature four official competition categories: Fiction, Major News and Current Affairs, Digital, and the Prince Rainier III Special Prize.

A key evolution concerns the Major News and Current Affairs category, which now places greater emphasis on in-depth, field-based investigative journalism. Revised criteria prioritise direct observation, rigorous reporting and firsthand testimony, with a particular focus on programmes shedding light on major societal, cultural and geopolitical issues, including contemporary conflict zones.

The Digital Prize, launched in 2025, enters its second year and continues to recognise content created exclusively for digital platforms and distributed solely via YouTube. Eligible programmes must follow unscripted formats, without actors or pre-written dialogue. Two awards will be presented: Best Original Digital Creation and Best Digital Documentary, reflecting the growing importance of digital-first storytelling in the audiovisual industry.

Since its creation, the Golden Nymph Awards have stood among the most respected distinctions in international television, celebrating excellence across genres and formats. Entry remains free of charge for industry professionals worldwide, with productions made for television and streaming platforms eligible for selection.

Submissions close on Thursday 19 March 2026, with the official selection announced in May. The Golden Nymph Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday 16 June 2026, closing the Festival week.
