Archireef Highlights Biodiversity and Maritime Sustainability at Ocean Innovators Platform in Abu Dhabi

Archireef participated last week in the 10th Ocean Innovators Platform, held as part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week and co-hosted by the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco and Frontier25. The event brought together international leaders, policymakers and industry stakeholders to examine sustainability challenges and opportunities across the maritime ecosystem.

The platform opened with a keynote address by Her Highness Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, setting the tone for a series of discussions focused on innovation, collaboration and long-term environmental responsibility within the ocean economy.

During the panel titled “Sustainability Perspectives Across the UAE’s Maritime Ecosystem”, Archireef’s CEO, Vriko Yu, addressed the role of the maritime sector in supporting biodiversity protection and ecological enhancement. The discussion highlighted how infrastructure developers and operators can integrate nature-positive solutions into ports, coastal developments and marine operations.

Archireef’s participation reflected its ongoing collaboration with partners including AD Ports Group and its wider commitment to advancing reef-based restoration technologies and sustainable marine infrastructure. The exchange provided an opportunity for regional and international stakeholders to explore practical pathways toward more resilient and environmentally responsible maritime development.

The Ocean Innovators Platform forms part of a broader international dialogue supported by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, aimed at accelerating innovation and partnerships for ocean protection and sustainable blue economies.
