The draw for the Davis Cup tie between Monaco and Kazakhstan has been held in Astana, setting the stage for a decisive weekend of international tennis as the two nations compete for qualification to Davis Cup World Group I.
The official ceremony takes place in the Kazakh capital in the presence of Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy, President of the Monaco Tennis Federation, alongside representatives of both national delegations.
Play gets underway on Friday, 6 February at 11:00, with Monaco facing a formidable challenge against a strong Kazakh line-up. World number 10 Alexander Bublik opens the tie against Hugo Nys, before Kazakhstan’s Alexander Shevchenko (ATP No. 87) meets Monaco’s Valentin Vacherot in the second singles match.
Action resumes on Saturday, 7 February from 09:50 with the doubles encounter, where Alexander Bublik and Beibit Zhukayev face Monaco’s pairing of Romain Arneodo and Hugo Nys. The remaining singles matches see Bublik return to court against Vacherot, followed by a potentially decisive final clash between Shevchenko and Nys.
With qualification for World Group I at stake, the pressure is high for the Monegasque team. Competing away from home against top-level opposition, Monaco relies on resilience, precision and collective strength as it aims to secure one of its most significant Davis Cup results in recent years.
