Summary

From 28–30 April 2026, experience the hypnotic energy of Core Meu, Jean-Christophe Maillot’s latest interpretation of Apulia’s trance dance, performed live by 50 dancers and accompanied by Antonio Castrignanò & Taranta Sounds.

Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will stage a new version of Core Meu at the Salle des Princes, Grimaldi Forum Monaco, from Tuesday 28 to Thursday 30 April 2026, with performances beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at €25.

Choreographed by Jean-Christophe Maillot with assistant choreographer Bernice Coppieters, Core Meu draws inspiration from the trance-inducing tarantella of Italy’s Apulia region. Fifty dancers, accompanied by Antonio Castrignanò & Taranta Sounds, explore themes of love, desire, and ecstatic physicality in a performance that combines pointe technique and folk energy, culminating in a powerful Dionysian finale.
