Menton, February 14, 2026 – The French Riviera town of Menton is set to welcome visitors from around the world as the internationally renowned Fête du Citron® (Lemon Festival) returns from February 14 to March 1, 2026. Recognised as one of the most unique festivals in the world, the event attracts more than 200,000 visitors annually, transforming the seaside town into a vibrant, fragrant showcase of citrus creativity and tradition.
For more than two weeks, Menton’s streets and gardens will be adorned with monumental citrus sculptures, vibrant installations and artistic displays crafted entirely from lemons and oranges. The festival programme includes spectacular day and night parades, featuring citrus-themed floats, live music and costumed performers, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the town.
At the heart of the celebrations, the Biovès Gardens will host the iconic citrus motif exhibitions, where visitors can explore large-scale artistic compositions designed around a new annual theme. Complementing the main attractions, a craft fair and Orchid Festival will highlight local artisans, horticulture and regional culture.
The Fête du Citron® traces its origins back to 1929, when Menton was one of Europe’s leading lemon producers. The first citrus and flower exhibition was held at the Hotel Riviera, before moving into the streets the following year. In 1934, the event officially became the Fête du Citron®, establishing a tradition that now stands as one of the Riviera’s most celebrated cultural landmarks.
Blending heritage, creativity and tourism, the festival continues to reinforce Menton’s position as a cultural and seasonal highlight of the Côte d’Azur, drawing families, international visitors and media attention to one of the region’s most visually striking events.
