Monacollecte Returns to Fontvieille with Focus on Waste Reduction

Monaco – March 2026  The fifth edition of Monacollecte has taken place in Fontvieille, bringing together residents, local associations and environmental organisations to promote waste reduction and sustainable practices across the Principality.

Organised by the Société Monégasque d’Assainissement (SMA), the annual environmental initiative invited residents to bring unwanted household items and learn how they can be reused, recycled or properly disposed of. The event continues to play an important role in raising awareness of responsible waste management in Monaco.

Held under the Fontvieille marquee, this year’s edition focused on the theme of zero waste, offering visitors a range of hands-on workshops and demonstrations designed to encourage more sustainable daily habits.

Activities included practical sessions on zero-waste cooking, creating simple homemade cosmetics, sewing repairs and other creative reuse techniques. The workshops aimed to show how everyday materials can be repurposed instead of discarded.

Several local environmental groups and community organisations also participated, presenting their sustainability initiatives and providing guidance on recycling and waste sorting within the Principality.

Monacollecte welcomed visitors throughout the day, giving residents an opportunity to declutter responsibly while discovering practical ways to reduce household waste.
