Monaco Economy Records €9.2 Billion Turnover as Employment Reaches New High

MONACO — September 25, 2026 — Monaco's latest economic figures show a change from the exceptional results recorded in 2025, while employment continued to expand during the first half of 2026. According to figures from the Monaco Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (IMSEE), business turnover excluding financial and insurance activities declined 9.6% year on year to €9.2 billion during the first six months of 2026. IMSEE noted that part of the decline reflects unusually high activity during 2025, including several major construction projects and one-off operations that did not recur this year. At the same time, private-sector employment reached almost 70,000 people at the end of June, representing a 4.2% increase compared with the previous year. Several sectors continued to expand, including retail and hospitality and catering. Hospitality and catering turnover passed €600 million during the first half of the year. The figures provide an updated view of Monaco's economic activity and employment situation midway through 2026.
