Monaco to Issue New Mobile Numbers Exclusively With +377 Code

MONACO — September 28, 2026 — Monaco is preparing to introduce a new mobile numbering arrangement from October 1, with all newly issued mobile numbers using the Principality's +377 international code. The change means new residential and business mobile lines will no longer be assigned French-prefixed 06 numbers. Existing subscribers will not be required to change their current numbers and can continue using them without administrative action. The update follows agreements between Monaco's Government and French telecommunications regulator Arcep. Authorities have linked the move to Monaco's broader digital strategy, including efforts to strengthen national telecommunications identity and improve protection against caller ID spoofing and fraudulent calls. Monaco Telecom will continue providing mobile services under the updated numbering system. The transition is expected to affect only new mobile number allocations from October 1.
