Monaco Grand Prix to Host First Formula 1 Sprint Race in 2027

MONACO — September 17, 2026 — The Monaco Grand Prix will host its first Formula 1 Sprint race during the 2027 championship season. Formula 1 has confirmed that the Monaco round will be part of an expanded 2027 Sprint calendar featuring 10 Sprint weekends. The 2027 Monaco Grand Prix is scheduled for June 3 to 6, with Sprint Qualifying planned for Friday and the Sprint race scheduled for Saturday ahead of Sunday’s main Grand Prix. The change will create a new format for one of Formula 1’s most established events and introduce additional competitive sessions around the famous Circuit de Monaco. Monaco has never previously hosted an F1 Sprint since the format was introduced in 2021. The 2027 event will therefore mark a new chapter in the Principality’s long association with Formula 1 and the Monaco Grand Prix.
