Monaco Science Festival to Highlight Marine Conservation on September 30

MONACO — August 28, 2026 — Monaco's Science Festival will return to Espace Léo Ferré on September 30, bringing researchers, institutions and associations together for a day dedicated to science and discovery. Among the organisations taking part will be the Association Monégasque pour la Protection de la Nature, known as AMPN, which will showcase its long-running work protecting Monaco's marine environment. Founded in 1975, the association helped establish protected marine areas along Monaco's coastline, including the Larvotto underwater reserve and another protected area near the entrance to Port Hercule. Today, the AMPN continues to monitor marine ecosystems, support ecological restoration initiatives and promote environmental education. Visitors to the Science Festival will have the opportunity to learn more about Monaco's marine biodiversity and the conservation work being carried out close to the Principality's coastline. The event will feature activities, workshops and opportunities for members of the public to meet scientists and participating organisations. The festival forms part of Monaco's wider programme of scientific and environmental education and will take place throughout the day on September 30.
