Monaco Yacht Club Launches Youth Maritime Academy to Train Next Generation of Sailors
The new academy will offer year-round training programmes in sailing, navigation, and marine conservation for young people aged 8–18.

MONACO — December 20, 2026 — The Monaco Yacht Club has announced the launch of its new Youth Maritime Academy, a year-round training programme designed to cultivate the next generation of sailors, navigators, and marine conservationists in the Principality.
The academy will offer structured courses for young people aged 8–18, covering dinghy sailing, coastal navigation, seamanship, and marine ecology. Advanced students will have the opportunity to train on offshore keelboats and participate in regional regattas.
A dedicated marine conservation module, developed in partnership with the Monaco Scientific Center, will teach students about Posidonia meadows, Mediterranean biodiversity, and sustainable boating practices.
"The sea is part of Monaco's identity," said the academy's director. "This programme ensures that young people not only learn to sail but also understand and protect the marine environment that makes our Principality unique."
Enrolment for the first cohort opens in January 2027, with courses beginning in March 2027.
