Renovated Lycée Albert Ier Welcomes Students Back in Monaco

MONACO — September 9, 2026 — Monaco's Lycée Albert Ier has returned to its historic site following a year-long renovation project aimed at modernising the school while preserving its role within the Principality's education system. Prince Albert II visited the renovated school on September 3 ahead of the new academic year. The project introduced modern equipment across the school, including interactive digital screens and new classroom furniture. The building's air-conditioning and ventilation systems were also upgraded, alongside improvements to thermal and acoustic insulation and new window and door fittings. Photovoltaic panels have been installed as part of the renovation, while additional pergola structures have improved outdoor areas. During the works, students and staff were temporarily relocated while the historic school underwent extensive improvements. The completed renovation allows students to begin the 2026–2027 academic year back at the institution's original location in Monaco-Ville. The project represents another investment in Monaco's education infrastructure and the modernisation of public facilities.
